Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale National Park; the primate capital

After an early morning breakfast, meet our driver for transfer to Kibale National park with enroute lunch. On your way, you will view the beautiful tea plantations as you get nearer Fort portal town and the beautiful Rwenzori mountain ranges. Arrive late in the afternoon for check in and rest from the long journey. Dinner and overnight at Crater Safari Lodge (Luxury)/Primates Lodge Deluxe (Mid-range)/Chimpanzee Guest House (budget).

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking at Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, get to Kanywanchu for briefing to prepare you for chimpanzee tracking starting at 7:45 AM. This is a half day activity lasting between 3 to 5 hours depending on the movement of the chimpanzees. On finding the primates, you will spend 1 hour with them while studying their behavior and taking pictures in close range. You will have an opportunity to see other primates including velvet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, baboons among others. After tracking, return to the lodge for lunch. Alternatively opt for full day chimpanzee habituation experience.

Later in the afternoon, you will go for a nature walk at Bigodi wetland a good place to sight different species birds. You can visit the women group as well for entertainment and crafts or you can go for crater walk and hike top of the world. Thereafter return to your hotel for Dinner and overnight

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National park known as a medley of wonders because of its rich habitat and wildlife. Check-in your hotel and have lunch. Thereafter, you can go for a game drive to the explosion craters or visit Katwe salt mining to have an experience of how salt is extracted locally. You can choose to visit the Kikorongo women entertainment group and visit their crafts shop as well.

Day 5: Game drive and launch cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park

After early morning breakfast, meet your driver for transfer to Kasenyi the famous place for game drives and mating ground for antelopes. You will have a chance to view different wild animals including lions, buffaloes, elephants, different antelopes and many more nocturnal animals and predators from hunting. After game drive, return to your hotel to relax and have lunch. At 3:00pm, you will go for the famous launch cruise at Kazinga channel for 2 hours. While on the launch cruise, you will be able to see what you missed during your game drive. You have chance to see elephants and buffalos on the shores, crocodiles sun bathing and big schools of hippos. This is a good place to sight different bird species both original and migratory.
Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park/Game drive in Ishasha Sector

Have early morning breakfast and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park. On your way, you will go through Ishasha Sector in search for the tree climbing lions resting in fig trees. En route lunch in Kihihi town and thereafter, connect to your hotel in Bwindi for dinner and overnight stay. Mahogany Springs(luxury)/Havens Lodge (Mid-range)/Ruhondeza Lodge (Budget)

Day 7: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi

Have breakfast and proceed to UWA park offices for briefing about the dos and don’ts about Gorilla tracking. Remember to carry enough drinking water and lunch boxes and if need be, you will be advised to hire a porter to carry your back pack. This activity is approximated to last between 4 to 6 hours. However, the estimated time can be more or less depending on the movement of the gorilla family. Once you meet the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend only 1 hour with them observing and taking photos in close range. After an hour with the gorillas, your ranger guide will lead you back to the starting point and award you certificate of participation. Drive back to the lodge for hot lunch and relaxation. Optional community and nature walks in the evening.

Day 8: Transfer to Volcanoes national park

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Volcanoes national Park in Rwanda a journey that will take you over 8 hours. Reach in the evening and check in your hotel for Dinner and overnight stay at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge / The 5 Volcanoes Lodge (Luxury), Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge / Da Vinci Lodge (Mid-range) and The Garden Place Hotel (Budget).

Day 9: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park

After your breakfast, connect at the park headquarters for briefing about the rules that guide gorilla tracking and expectations among others. The rules here do not differ from Bwindi but it will give you a different experience tracking in a different park and country as well. Clients more often want to get a comparison of tracking in different countries and this gives them last memories. Estimated time of tracking is between 3 to 6 hours. Since the activity is a bit tiresome though worth rewarding, evening will be at leisure. But you can as well choose to visit the Iby’iwachu cultural dance group late evening. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 10: Golden monkey tracking

After breakfast, you will assemble at the park headquarters for briefing about golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes National park. This activity is worth rewarding and you will be able to see these beautiful endangered primates in their natural habitat. You can only do this activity only in the Volcanoes national park in Rwanda or Mgahinga National park in Uganda. Return the lodge to refresh and the rest of the evening will be at leisure.

Day 11: Transfer to Lake Kivu

After breakfast, meet you driver for transfer to Lake Kivu. You will reach around midday, and check in your hotel for lunch. Thereafter, you will go for an evening boat ride on lake Kivu Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 12. Transfer to Kigali and Departure

After breakfast, meet your driver for transfer to Kigali international airport for departure.

Day 1: Kampala – Mgahinga Mountain Gorilla

Depart Kampala for Mgahinga Mountain Gorilla National Park. Make a stopover at the equator and experience weight changes at both hemispheres. Drive through the Acacia woodland of Ankole and do not miss the famous long-horned Ankole cows. Have lunch at any Hotel en-route. Continue with your Safari through the terraced hills of Kabale (Switzerland of Uganda). Dinner and overnight at Sky Blue Hotel (high-end classic accommodation), Mgahinga Safari Lodge (Medium class accommodation), or Traveler’s Rest Camp (low budget accommodation).

Day 2: Tracking Mountain Gorillas

After breakfast, set off for Gorilla tracking on the three volcanoes, (Mt Sabinyo, Mt Muhavura or Mt Gahinga). As you track expect to see mountain Gorillas especially the Nyakagezi Gorilla group. Hike up to the top of the volcanoes and view the whole of park. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Return to Kampala

After breakfast, return to Kampala with a brief stopover on Lake Bunyonyi the 2nd deepest lake in East Africa. Participate in boat riding, sightseeing, taking photos. Continue with your return journey and arrive in Kampala late afternoon. Transfer to Entebbe International Airport depending on the international flight departure times. Tour ends. Booking for this Gorilla tracking Tour

We advise our clients interested in Gorilla tracking to book a Gorilla permit at least 3 months in advance to ensure that requested dates are available. This is because of the high number of trackers. Please note that Gorilla tracking can be done in Rwanda and Congo as well if permits can’t be got in Uganda at the time of booking. The track experience starts at 8:30 am local time and can take three to eight hours. The Gorilla tracking fee is $500 per – person.

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi forest national park

Early in the morning after breakfast you will depart Kampala to Bwindi forest national park in south western Uganda, through Mbarara- kabale high way. The journey is long about 8- 9 hours with enroute stop overs for lunch and important sightings. Bwindi forest national park is a huge protected tropical rain forest that in habits over 400 mountain gorillas with 17 habituated gorilla families. The park is also a birders haven with over340 bird species including 20 endemic species of the Albertine rift valley. Day 2: Gorilla tracking experience

Have early morning break fast and your safari guide will drive you to the park center for briefing about gorilla tracking experience, do’s and don’ts. you will then be allocated a gorilla family to track in groups of 8 individuals.  Endeavor to carry packed lunch, enough drinking water, and have the right gear. The ranger and lead guide will then lead you to the thick forest in search of the gorillas. The exercise usually takes 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the gorilla till you find a settled family. Take time to observe, take photographs, videos, ask question to the guides. Mountain gorillas behave like human beings a part from living in the wild, you will be able to see mothers cuddle and nurse their young ones, infants playing, feeding and a giant silver back lead the family in their movement. Day 4: Mountain gorilla tracking in volcanoes national park

Morning breakfast and your safari guide will drive you to Kinigi park headquarters for yet another gorilla experience in volcanoes national park. Briefing starts at 7:00 am and you will drive to the starting point at 8:00 trekking begins with the lead guide and ranger in groups of 8 people per gorilla family. Ascend into the park forest in search of the mountain gorillas until you find them, once you find them, utilize the 1-hour time allowed to take as many pictures as you can, later descend back to the starting point and return to the lodge for hot lunch. In the evening you will visit the local traditional iby’iwachu cultural village for cultural entertainment through plays, dance and storytelling. Dinner and overnight on day 3

Day 5: Golden monkey tracking and transfer back to Kigali

After tracking if you are still strong, you can choose to go for a nature walk to the falls or take a community walk. Then dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5. Transfer to Kampala

After breakfast, meet your driver for transfer to Kampala/Entebbe with en route lunch at Igongo Cultural center. You will also have a stopover at the equator to take some photos or buying some souvenirs. Continue to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Morning breakfast and drive off to western Uganda, lake Mburo national park, the park is Strategically located on highway 3- 4 hours’ drive from the city center. Lake Mburo is inhabited by zebras, topis, impalas, warthogs, kobs, and many others. You will have en route stopover at the equator for photography and experiments also Mpabiire local drum makers, proceed to Mburo reaching in the afternoon for lunch and evening game drive where you will spot numerous wild life species.  Day 2: Walking safari

Wake up and have a quick cup of tea for breakfast, and enroll for walking safari within the park.  This activity takes two hours, you will get close to the impalas, giraffes, topis, as well do some birding spotting various bird species like hamerkop, wagtail. Return to the lodge have breakfast and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park, reaching late evening, check-in the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Game drive and boat

Early morning game drive starts at 6-7 am along Kasenyi tracks, therefore you need to wake up early morning for breakfast, the purpose is to spot early risers like hyenas, lions, solitary buffaloes, and also kobs, elands, bushbucks, waterbucks, warthogs among others. Return to the lodge for breakfast and lunch and in the afternoon, you will do a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, with chances to get close to the school of hippos, crocodiles, elephants at the bank of the river, water birds, malachite kingfisher, African fish eagles, and many others. Day 4: chimp tracking at Kyambura Gorge- Bwindi Forest National Park

Morning breakfast and chimpanzee tracking at Kyambura gorge, Kyambura is not only home to primates but the 100 meters step verdant forested slope is inhabited by other primates, which include olive baboons, vervet monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys. Other than primates there are also several bird species to spot like black and white kingfisher, Martial Eagle, Pink-backed pelicans, falcons, blue-headed bee-eater among others. In return you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park through the southern sector of the park, have a lunch en-route, and proceed to Bwindi reaching in the evening, check-in the lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Day 5: Gorilla tracking

On this day, wake up early and prepare for the memorable experience, you will need good hiking boots, camera, rain coat, come along with packed lunch and enough drinking water as you go for briefing at the park quarters. You will then embark on the tracking experience led by the ranger guide into the forest, trekking usually take 2- 3 hours depending on the movement of the great apes, when you final meet them, make use of the 1 hour time allocated to take photographs, videos and observe how they go about their daily life.  Day 6: Departure

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and afternoon canopy walk

You will then find a troop of about 100 chimpanzees climbing trees, building nests, feeding and playing. Day 3: Transfer to volcanoes national park

Day 4: Gorilla tracking and cultural experience

Early morning breakfast and you drive to the park center for briefing, you will be assembled in groups of 8 and then drive to the starting point after briefing. Embark on the memorial experience of finding mountain gorillas, once you reach out to them, spend 1 hour with them and later return to the lodge for hot lunch. Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi forest national park

Day 6: Double gorilla tracking and transfer to lake Bunyonyi

Early in the morning, you will have breakfast, prepare your right gear, carry your packed lunch, enough drinking, and your driver-guide will drive you to the park quarters for briefing before gorilla tracking. You will then be allocated a gorilla family and the park guide and ranger will lead you into the forest in search of mountain gorillas, remember mountain gorillas are wild and time for trekking is not guaranteed. When you finally find them, spend one full hour with them, following them, taking photos and videos, on return to the starting point you will transfer to lake Bunyonyi, take a boat on the lake touring the 29 islands, and fishing villages. Day 7: Departure

Picnic lunch en route and continue to Kibale. Arrive late afternoon. Relax at the lodge or explore the nearby Crater Lake. Day 3: Tracking chimps in Kibale

After breakfast, enter the forest in search for chimpanzees the experience is quiet exciting and adventurous. Expect to see other species of primates such as Baboons, Red colobus monkey, Black and white colobus monkey, Grey cheeked mangabey, Red tailed monkey, Birds like sun birds, Turaco, pitas and other bird species, butter fly species etc. return late afternoon for relaxation or an option of visiting Bigodi swamp. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Kibale – Queen Elizabeth

After breakfast, go for a walk to Bigodi wet land sanctuary look out for the rare shoe Bill Bird, African pitta, Fish Eagle, Crown Great Blue Turaco among others, species of primates such as Baboons, Blue monkeys, Banded Mangoose etc. picnic lunch will be taken at the lodge.
In the afternoon drive off to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Over night at either Jacana Safari lodge, Mweya Safari Lodge, King Fisher Lodge (high end classic accommodation) or Mweya Institute of Ecology (low budget classic accommodation).

Day 4: Kyambura Gorge and Maramagambo forest

Start with Kyambura river gorge for an extra ordinary experience of tracking chimps. It is so enriching to see the ravishing river valley which is a home of many birds and butterfly species. Relax over a drink at the camp and proceed to Maramagambo forest for an exciting nature walk up to the bat cave and the unique blue Crater Lake. Over night at the lodge.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Depart from Queen Elizabeth and leave for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, with a game drive in the Ishasha sector which is the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Expect to see the famous tree climbing lions that can be spotted on the large fig trees and other wild life such as Topis, Buffaloes and warthogs etc.
Overnight at either Mantana Tented Camp (high end luxurious accommodation), Buhoma homestead (medium class accommodation) or Buhoma community camp (low Budget accommodation). Approximate driving time is 4 – 5 hours.

Day 6: Gorilla Tracking

After breakfast and briefing from the guide, enter the forest in search for mountain Gorillas. Bwindi Impenetrable forest is a home for the rare mountain Gorillas and about 650 individual gorillas left in the whole world half are in Bwindi. Tracking may take 2 – 8 hours, depending on the location of the Gorillas. One may walk a short or long distance in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. A picnic lunch will taken and you will only be allowed an hour’s stay with Gorillas. After tracking return to the Camp for relaxation. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 7: Bwindi – Kampala

After breakfast, return to Kampala lunch en route in Mbarara town. Visit Ankole cultural village, buy some souvenirs. Proceed to Kampala; arriving late evening. Overnight at either Serena Hotel (High end/luxurious accommodation), Grand Imperial Hotel, Royal Capital Palace Hotel (Medium class accommodation) or Fare way Hotel (low Budget accommodation).

Day 8: Departure day

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to the Hotel

Day 2: City Tour and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will be led out of the lodge to go for a historical visit to the historical burial site of the genocide massacres.

You will learn a lot about this tragedy that happened in 1994 and how the country has since recovered from it. You will then proceed to Ruhengeri district in the Northwest where Volcanoes National Park is located. Dinner and night stay at the lodge within the park.

Day 3: Gorilla Tracking

After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for briefing with other guests on the tracking rules and regulations.  You will be allocated Gorilla groups to track and be led into the forest to search for the habituated Gorillas.

You will be allowed to spend one full hour with the Gorillas from the time of encounter as you learn the behavioral patterns of these forest giants.

You will then be led to the starting point to meet your driver and transfer you to the lodge to retire from the long activity. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking

Drive to Gisenyi after breakfast and meet the rest of the visitors to be briefed on the tracking guidelines as a group. Golden monkeys are tracked like the Gorillas and some of the guidelines are more/less the same as you will be guided.

You will be led into the forest to search for these tiny and shy apes that have been habituated. The monkeys are seen jumping on top of the trees but are uniquely identified by their unique Golden fur even from a distance.

Please carry your pair of Binoculars to watch more closely. You will be led to the starting point after this blissful experience to meet your driver. You will head for a community visit to catch up with the local people to interact with them and learn about their way of life. Dinner and night stay at the lodge.

Day 5: Return to Kigali

After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will drive to Kigali and have a short city tour before transferring to the airport for your flight.

Day 1: Arrival

Our professional guide will be ready at the airport to welcome you on arrival and transfer you to the Hotel in Kigali city. There is a number of activities to do depending on the time you arrive and these include; a city tour to different tour destinations in the city.  You will check into the Hotel and rest for the night on your first day in Rwanda.

Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park

This Savannah park is found in the northeastern side of Rwanda bordering Tanzania. It shelters several big mammals including; Elephants, Buffaloes, Zebras, Waterbucks, Bushbucks, Giraffes, and recently introduced Lions. This day begins with a game drive through this park to explore the beautiful nature of this land of a thousand hills watching the animals in the wild. Drive to the lodge for lunch and launch a boat cruise on Lake Ihema to catch to with Hippos and crocs and a number of water birds and animals coming to quench their thirst on the fresh waters of this lake. You will later return to the lodge for dinner and a night’s stay at Akagera game lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

After breakfast at the lodge, you will exit Akagera and head to Nyungwe forest National park to catch up with the closest relatives of humans in the forest. Nyungwe is known for its thick forest and the canopy walk that is one of the three in Africa. you will have a lunch stopover at Huye to learn a little about the Rwandan Culture and arrive later in the evening and check into the lodge for dinner and night stay at Nyungwe top view lodge.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking and Canopy Walk

After the morning breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred to the park headquarters to have a briefing on the clear rules for chimpanzee tracking with other guests. You will then be led into the forest in search of habituated Chimps. The exercise will take you 2-5 hours including a one full hour encounter with the Chimps from the time of encounter. You may have a chance to watch other primates in this forest as you track the Chips. Many bird species are also found in this park and may be seen on the trip. You will later transfer to the Uwinka center for the Canopy walk which is another magical experience. Return to the lodge for dinner and a night stay.

Day 5: Nyungwe to Volcanoes National Park

After the morning breakfast, you will embark on a rather long journey connecting to the Volcanoes National park the home of mountain Gorillas. The journey takes you about 6 hours driving through the beautiful countryside as you watch the rolling hills of Rwanda. You will arrive in the evening hours and retire at the lodge for the next day’s activities. Dinner and night stay at Le Bambou gorilla lodge.

Day 6: Gorillas Tracking in Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, you will drive off to the park headquarters of Volcanoes National Park for a briefing with other guests. You will be allocated Gorilla groups to track with other guests in groups of 8 people.

You will then hit the jungle to meet the habituated Gorillas in their habitat. On meeting them, you will be allowed to spend one full hour with them as you watch their behavior and learning about their unique nature.

You will then be led back to the starting point to meet your driver and head to the lodge for a rest. Dinner and night stay at Le Bambou gorilla lodge.

Day 7: End of the Rwanda Wildlife Safari

Start your day with breakfast at the lodge and transfer to Kigali city for a short city tour before you are led to the airport for your departure.

Day 1: Drive to Volcanoes National Park & have a cultural safari

The guide will also meet you at the hotel in Kigali and will then drive you to Kinigi in Ruhengeri in volcanoes National park. This national park has got mountain gorillas and many other animal species. Upon your arrival, you will also check-in at the lodge and then proceed to the Iby’Wachi village for cultural entertainment.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking & Drive to Kigali

Enjoy breakfast in the morning and after proceed to the headquarters for your briefing from the park, you will also be equipped with hiking gear and drinking water. Immediately after, proceed to the forest in order to track the mountain gorillas in Rwanda. Glancing at these gorillas, you will also be given one hour as the allocated time. You then return to the lodge and have lunch that will be followed by a transfer back to Kigali for your flight back home.
