Dinner and overnight at Crater Safari Lodge (Luxury)/Primates Lodge Deluxe (Mid-range)/Chimpanzee Guest House (budget).</p><p><strong>Estimated distance 4-5 hours</strong></p><h2>Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking at Kibale Forest National Park</h2><p>After breakfast, get to Kanywanchu for briefing to prepare you for chimpanzee tracking starting at 7:45 AM. This is a half day activity lasting between 3 to 5 hours depending on the movement of the chimpanzees. On finding the primates, you will spend 1 hour with them while studying their behavior and taking pictures in close range. You will have an opportunity to see other primates including velvet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, baboons among others. After tracking, return to the lodge for lunch. Alternatively opt for full day chimpanzee habituation experience.</p><p>Later in the afternoon, you will go for a nature walk at Bigodi wetland a good place to sight different species birds. Check-in your hotel and have lunch. Thereafter, you can go for a game drive to the explosion craters or visit Katwe salt mining to have an experience of how salt is extracted locally. You will have a chance to view different wild animals including lions, buffaloes, elephants, different antelopes and many more nocturnal animals and predators from hunting. After game drive, return to your hotel to relax and have lunch. At 3:00pm, you will go for the famous launch cruise at Kazinga channel for 2 hours. Remember to carry enough drinking water and lunch boxes and if need be, you will be advised to hire a porter to carry your back pack. This activity is approximated to last between 4 to 6 hours. However, the estimated time can be more or less depending on the movement of the gorilla family. Once you meet the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend only 1 hour with them observing and taking photos in close range. Optional community and nature walks in the evening.</p><h2>Day 8: Transfer to Volcanoes national park</h2><p>After breakfast, you will be transferred to Volcanoes national Park in Rwanda a journey that will take you over 8 hours. Clients more often want to get a comparison of tracking in different countries and this gives them last memories. Estimated time of tracking is between 3 to 6 hours. Since the activity is a bit tiresome though worth rewarding, evening will be at leisure. But you can as well choose to visit the Iby’iwachu cultural dance group late evening. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.</p><h2>Day 10: Golden monkey tracking</h2><p>After breakfast, you will assemble at the park headquarters for briefing about golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes National park. Lake Mburo is inhabited by zebras, topis, impalas, warthogs, kobs, and many others. You will have en route stopover at the equator for photography and experiments also Mpabiire local drum makers, proceed to Mburo reaching in the afternoon for lunch and evening game drive where you will spot numerous wild life species. Return to the lodge for breakfast and lunch and in the afternoon, you will do a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, with chances to get close to the school of hippos, crocodiles, elephants at the bank of the river, water birds, malachite kingfisher, African fish eagles, and many others. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight, <strong>Katara lodge/Parkview safari lodge, Mweya safari lodge.</strong></p><h2>Day 4: chimp tracking at Kyambura Gorge- Bwindi Forest National Park</h2><p>Morning breakfast and chimpanzee tracking at Kyambura gorge, Kyambura is not only home to primates but the 100 meters step verdant forested slope is inhabited by other primates, which include olive baboons, vervet monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys. Other than primates there are also several bird species to spot like black and white kingfisher, Martial Eagle, Pink-backed pelicans, falcons, blue-headed bee-eater among others. The 7 days safari will start and end in the Kigali capital of Rwanda.</p><h2>Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe national park</h2><p>Upon arrival you will meet with your safari guide and drive south of Rwanda to Nyungwe national park about 6 hours’ drive. Enroute visit to Nyanza kings place and Butare museum. Nyungwe forest is among the oldest canopy forest in the east African region, the forest is inhabited by 12 primate species including chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkey, red tailed monkeys, l’hoest monkeys, owl cheeked monkeys, baboons among others. Other species include over 300 bird species including 27 endemics. Who will then transfer you to Kampala for overnight at either Serena Hotel, Common Wealth Country Resort Munyonyo (High end/luxurious accommodation), Grand Imperial Hotel, Royal Capital Palace Hotel (Medium class accommodation), or Fairway Hotel (low Budget accommodation).</p><h2>Day 2: Kampala – Kibale Forest National Park</h2><p>After breakfast, depart Kampala via the pretty little town of Mubende set in rolling hills. Expect to see other species of primates such as Baboons, Red colobus monkey, Black and white colobus monkey, Grey cheeked mangabey, Red tailed monkey, Birds like sun birds, Turaco, pitas and other bird species, butter fly species etc. return late afternoon for relaxation or an option of visiting Bigodi swamp. Overnight at the lodge.</p><h2>Day 3: Kibale – Queen Elizabeth</h2><p>After breakfast, go for a walk to Bigodi wet land sanctuary look out for the rare shoe Bill Bird, African pitta, Fish Eagle, Crown Great Blue Turaco among others, species of primates such as Baboons, Blue monkeys, Banded Mangoose etc. picnic lunch will be taken at the lodge.<br />In the afternoon drive off to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Over night at either Jacana Safari lodge, Mweya Safari Lodge, King Fisher Lodge (high end classic accommodation) or Mweya Institute of Ecology (low budget classic accommodation).</p><h2>Day 4: Kyambura Gorge and Maramagambo forest</h2><p>Start with Kyambura river gorge for an extra ordinary experience of tracking chimps. It is so enriching to see the ravishing river valley which is a home of many birds and butterfly species. Relax over a drink at the camp and proceed to Maramagambo forest for an exciting nature walk up to the bat cave and the unique blue Crater Lake. Over night at the lodge.</p><h2>Day 5: Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest</h2><p>Depart from Queen Elizabeth and leave for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, with a game drive in the Ishasha sector which is the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Expect to see the famous tree climbing lions that can be spotted on the large fig trees and other wild life such as Topis, Buffaloes and warthogs etc.<br />Overnight at either Mantana Tented Camp (high end luxurious accommodation), Buhoma homestead (medium class accommodation) or Buhoma community camp (low Budget accommodation). Approximate driving time is 4 – 5 hours.</p><h2>Day 6: Gorilla Tracking</h2><p>After breakfast and briefing from the guide, enter the forest in search for mountain Gorillas. Bwindi Impenetrable forest is a home for the rare mountain Gorillas and about 650 individual gorillas left in the whole world half are in Bwindi. Tracking may take 2 – 8 hours, depending on the location of the Gorillas. One may walk a short or long distance in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. A picnic lunch will taken and you will only be allowed an hour&#8217;s stay with Gorillas. After tracking return to the Camp for relaxation. Dinner and night stay will be there at the lodge.</p><h2>Day 2: City Tour and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park</h2><p>After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will be led out of the lodge to go for a historical visit to the historical burial site of the genocide massacres.</p><p>You will learn a lot about this tragedy that happened in 1994 and how the country has since recovered from it. You will then proceed to Ruhengeri district in the Northwest where Volcanoes National Park is located. Dinner and night stay at the lodge within the park.</p><h2>Day 3: Gorilla Tracking</h2><p>After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for briefing with other guests on the tracking rules and regulations.  You will be allocated Gorilla groups to track and be led into the forest to search for the habituated Gorillas.</p><p>You will be allowed to spend one full hour with the Gorillas from the time of encounter as you learn the behavioral patterns of these forest giants.</p><p>You will then be led to the starting point to meet your driver and transfer you to the lodge to retire from the long activity. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.</p><h2>Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking</h2><p>Drive to Gisenyi after breakfast and meet the rest of the visitors to be briefed on the tracking guidelines as a group. Golden monkeys are tracked like the Gorillas and some of the guidelines are more/less the same as you will be guided.</p><p>You will be led into the forest to search for these tiny and shy apes that have been habituated. The monkeys are seen jumping on top of the trees but are uniquely identified by their unique Golden fur even from a distance.</p><p>Please carry your pair of Binoculars to watch more closely. You will head for a community visit to catch up with the local people to interact with them and learn about their way of life. You will later return to the lodge for dinner and a night&#8217;s stay at Akagera game lodge.</p><h2>Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park</h2><p>After breakfast at the lodge, you will exit Akagera and head to Nyungwe forest National park to catch up with the closest relatives of humans in the forest. Nyungwe is known for its thick forest and the canopy walk that is one of the three in Africa. you will have a lunch stopover at Huye to learn a little about the Rwandan Culture and arrive later in the evening and check into the lodge for dinner and night stay at Nyungwe top view lodge<strong>.</strong></p><h2>Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking and Canopy Walk</h2><p>After the morning breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred to the park headquarters to have a briefing on the clear rules for chimpanzee tracking with other guests. You will then be led into the forest in search of habituated Chimps. The exercise will take you 2-5 hours including a one full hour encounter with the Chimps from the time of encounter. You may have a chance to watch other primates in this forest as you track the Chips. Many bird species are also found in this park and may be seen on the trip. You will later transfer to the Uwinka center for the Canopy walk which is another magical experience. Return to the lodge for dinner and a night stay.</p><h2>Day 5: Nyungwe to Volcanoes National Park</h2><p>After the morning breakfast, you will embark on a rather long journey connecting to the Volcanoes National park the home of mountain Gorillas. The journey takes you about 6 hours driving through the beautiful countryside as you watch the rolling hills of Rwanda. You will arrive in the evening hours and retire at the lodge for the next day’s activities. Dinner and night stay at Le Bambou gorilla lodge.</p><h2>Day 6: Gorillas Tracking in Volcanoes National Park</h2><p>After breakfast, you will drive off to the park headquarters of Volcanoes National Park for a briefing with other guests. You will be allocated Gorilla groups to track with other guests in groups of 8 people.</p><p>You will then hit the jungle to meet the habituated Gorillas in their habitat. On meeting them, you will be allowed to spend one full hour with them as you watch their behavior and learning about their unique nature.</p><p>You will then be led back to the starting point to meet your driver and head to the lodge for a rest.
