Day 1: Kampala – Mgahinga Mountain Gorilla

Depart Kampala for Mgahinga Mountain Gorilla National Park. Make a stopover at the equator and experience weight changes at both hemispheres. Drive through the Acacia woodland of Ankole and do not miss the famous long-horned Ankole cows. Have lunch at any Hotel en-route. Continue with your Safari through the terraced hills of Kabale (Switzerland of Uganda). Dinner and overnight at Sky Blue Hotel (high-end classic accommodation), Mgahinga Safari Lodge (Medium class accommodation), or Traveler’s Rest Camp (low budget accommodation).

Day 2: Tracking Mountain Gorillas

After breakfast, set off for Gorilla tracking on the three volcanoes, (Mt Sabinyo, Mt Muhavura or Mt Gahinga). As you track expect to see mountain Gorillas especially the Nyakagezi Gorilla group. Hike up to the top of the volcanoes and view the whole of park. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Return to Kampala

After breakfast, return to Kampala with a brief stopover on Lake Bunyonyi the 2nd deepest lake in East Africa. Participate in boat riding, sightseeing, taking photos. Continue with your return journey and arrive in Kampala late afternoon. Transfer to Entebbe International Airport depending on the international flight departure times. Tour ends. The approximate driving time is 8 – 9 hours.

Booking for this Gorilla tracking Tour

We advise our clients interested in Gorilla tracking to book a Gorilla permit at least 3 months in advance to ensure that requested dates are available. This is because of the high number of trackers. Please note that Gorilla tracking can be done in Rwanda and Congo as well if permits can’t be got in Uganda at the time of booking. The track experience starts at 8:30 am local time and can take three to eight hours. The Gorilla tracking fee is $500 per – person.

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park

After early morning breakfast, meet our driver for transfer to Kibale National park with en-route lunch in Fort portal. On your way, you will view the beautiful tea plantations as you get nearer Fort portal town and the beautiful Rwenzori mountain ranges. After lunch, you can visit the crater area for site seeing. Arrive in the evening for check-in and rest from the long journey. Dinner and overnight at Crater Safari Lodge (Luxury)/Primates Lodge Deluxe (Mid-range)/Chimpanzee Guest House (budget).

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest

After breakfast, get to Kanyanchu for a briefing to prepare you for chimpanzee tracking starting at 7:45 AM. This is a half day activity lasting between 3 to 5 hours depending on the movement of the chimpanzees. On finding the primates, you will spend 1 hour with them while studying their behavior and taking pictures in close range. You will have an opportunity to see other primates including velvet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, baboons among others. After tracking, return to the lodge for lunch.

Later in the afternoon, you will go for a nature walk at Bigodi wetland a good place to sight different species of birds. You can visit the women’s group as well for entertainment and crafts or you can go for a crater walk and hike on top of the world. Thereafter return to your hotel for Dinner and overnight

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

Have early morning breakfast and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park home of the few mountain gorillas remaining in the world. On your way, you will go through Ishasha Sector in search of the tree-climbing lions resting in fig trees with En route lunch and thereafter, connect to your hotel in Bwindi for dinner and overnight stay. Day 4. Gorilla tracking in Bwindi forest

Have breakfast and proceed to UWA park offices for briefing about the dos and don’ts during Gorilla trekking. This is where you will be given the gorilla family to track and be briefed about the rules been assigned to track. Once you meet the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend only 1 hour with them that guide gorilla tracking. This activity is approximated to last between 4 to 6 hours. However, the estimated time can be more or less depending on the movement of the gorilla family you have observing them and taking photos in close range. Meeting the gorillas is one of the most captivating lifetime experiences that give you lasting memories. This should be a must-do while in Uganda. After an hour with the gorillas, your ranger guide will lead you back to the starting point for debriefing and awarding certificates. After tracking if you are still strong, you can choose to go for a nature walk to the falls or take a community walk. Then dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5. Transfer to Kampala

After breakfast, meet your driver for transfer to Kampala/Entebbe with en route lunch at Igongo Cultural center. You will also have a stopover at the equator to take some photos or buying some souvenirs. Continue to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Morning breakfast and drive off to western Uganda, lake Mburo national park, the park is Strategically located on highway 3- 4 hours’ drive from the city center. Lake Mburo is inhabited by zebras, topis, impalas, warthogs, kobs, and many others. You will have en route stopover at the equator for photography and experiments also Mpabiire local drum makers, proceed to Mburo reaching in the afternoon for lunch and evening game drive where you will spot numerous wild life species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay Mihingo lodge/ Rwakobo rock lodge/ arcadia cottages.

 Day 2: Walking safari

Wake up and have a quick cup of tea for breakfast, and enroll for walking safari within the park.  This activity takes two hours, you will get close to the impalas, giraffes, topis, as well do some birding spotting various bird species like hamerkop, wagtail. Return to the lodge have breakfast and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park, reaching late evening, check-in the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Game drive and boat

Early morning game drive starts at 6-7 am along Kasenyi tracks, therefore you need to wake up early morning for breakfast, the purpose is to spot early risers like hyenas, lions, solitary buffaloes, and also kobs, elands, bushbucks, waterbucks, warthogs among others. Return to the lodge for breakfast and lunch and in the afternoon, you will do a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, with chances to get close to the school of hippos, crocodiles, elephants at the bank of the river, water birds, malachite kingfisher, African fish eagles, and many others. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight, Katara lodge/Parkview safari lodge, Mweya safari lodge.

Day 4: chimp tracking at Kyambura Gorge- Bwindi Forest National Park

Morning breakfast and chimpanzee tracking at Kyambura gorge, Kyambura is not only home to primates but the 100 meters step verdant forested slope is inhabited by other primates, which include olive baboons, vervet monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys. Other than primates there are also several bird species to spot like black and white kingfisher, Martial Eagle, Pink-backed pelicans, falcons, blue-headed bee-eater among others. In return you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park through the southern sector of the park, have a lunch en-route, and proceed to Bwindi reaching in the evening, check-in the lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Day 5: Gorilla tracking

On this day, wake up early and prepare for the memorable experience, you will need good hiking boots, camera, rain coat, come along with packed lunch and enough drinking water as you go for briefing at the park quarters. You will then embark on the tracking experience led by the ranger guide into the forest, trekking usually take 2- 3 hours depending on the movement of the great apes, when you final meet them, make use of the 1 hour time allocated to take photographs, videos and observe how they go about their daily life. On return you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi rock resort/ bird nest safari resort/ crater bay cottages.

 Day 6: Departure

Morning breakfast and tour around the 29 islands of Bunyonyi including punishment island and Kahungye island with great history and wildlife to see like impalas, zebras and donkeys as well as birds later transfer to Kigali international airport for departure crossing through Kabale- Katuna border.

Day 1: Arrival day

On arrival at Entebbe International airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver/guide from Budget Safari and Car Rental Services Ltd. Day 2: Kampala – Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, depart Kampala via the pretty little town of Mubende set in rolling hills. Make a stopover at the splendid Nakaima cultural tree known to be 400 hundred years old worshipped by local people and thought to be holding the spirit of an ancient Bachwezi King. Picnic lunch en route and continue to Kibale. Arrive late afternoon. Relax at the lodge or explore the nearby Crater Lake. Overnight at either Ndali lodge, a stunning location overlooking a dramatic Crater Lake (high-end luxurious accommodation), Rwenzori View Guest House (medium classic accommodation), Primate Lodge, or Kanyanchu tourist Centre (low budget classic accommodation)

Day 3: Tracking chimps in Kibale

After breakfast, enter the forest in search for chimpanzees the experience is quiet exciting and adventurous. Expect to see other species of primates such as Baboons, Red colobus monkey, Black and white colobus monkey, Grey cheeked mangabey, Red tailed monkey, Birds like sun birds, Turaco, pitas and other bird species, butter fly species etc. return late afternoon for relaxation or an option of visiting Bigodi swamp. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Kibale – Queen Elizabeth

After breakfast, go for a walk to Bigodi wet land sanctuary look out for the rare shoe Bill Bird, African pitta, Fish Eagle, Crown Great Blue Turaco among others, species of primates such as Baboons, Blue monkeys, Banded Mangoose etc. picnic lunch will be taken at the lodge.
In the afternoon drive off to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Over night at either Jacana Safari lodge, Mweya Safari Lodge, King Fisher Lodge (high end classic accommodation) or Mweya Institute of Ecology (low budget classic accommodation).

Day 4: Kyambura Gorge and Maramagambo forest

Start with Kyambura river gorge for an extra ordinary experience of tracking chimps. It is so enriching to see the ravishing river valley which is a home of many birds and butterfly species. Relax over a drink at the camp and proceed to Maramagambo forest for an exciting nature walk up to the bat cave and the unique blue Crater Lake. Over night at the lodge.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Depart from Queen Elizabeth and leave for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, with a game drive in the Ishasha sector which is the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Expect to see the famous tree climbing lions that can be spotted on the large fig trees and other wild life such as Topis, Buffaloes and warthogs etc.
Overnight at either Mantana Tented Camp (high end luxurious accommodation), Buhoma homestead (medium class accommodation) or Buhoma community camp (low Budget accommodation). Approximate driving time is 4 – 5 hours.

Day 6: Gorilla Tracking

After breakfast and briefing from the guide, enter the forest in search for mountain Gorillas. Bwindi Impenetrable forest is a home for the rare mountain Gorillas and about 650 individual gorillas left in the whole world half are in Bwindi. Tracking may take 2 – 8 hours, depending on the location of the Gorillas. One may walk a short or long distance in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. A picnic lunch will taken and you will only be allowed an hour’s stay with Gorillas. After tracking return to the Camp for relaxation. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 7: Bwindi – Kampala

After breakfast, return to Kampala lunch en route in Mbarara town. Visit Ankole cultural village, buy some souvenirs. Proceed to Kampala; arriving late evening. Overnight at either Serena Hotel (High end/luxurious accommodation), Grand Imperial Hotel, Royal Capital Palace Hotel (Medium class accommodation) or Fare way Hotel (low Budget accommodation).
The approximate driving time is 8 – 9 hours.

Day 8: Departure day

Day 1: Kampala City Cultural tour

You will be picked from your Hotel/lodge by our professional guide after your early breakfast and start your day with a visit to Kasubi tombs. Kasubi is the burial site for the Kings of Buganda Kingdom, you will have guides sharing the best information on this world heritage site. You will then head to the King’s palace at Mengo Hill in the heart of Kampala which is the Kingdom Headquarters. Here you will be allowed to visit the Lukiiko Hall (Kingdom Parliament) where the leadership sits to discuss Kingdom business. You will then have lunch and you will then visit the Uganda Museun after lunch and look at the ancient treasures of this country and proceed to the craft shops to end your day buying suveniors at Buganda Road in Kampala. Dinner and nightfall at the lodge/Hotel.

Day 2: Coronation Site at Nagalabi & Wamala Tombs

The morning begins on a tasty breakfast after which you will start your journey to the Coronation site in Buddo at Nagalabi. You will learn about the history of this place and why it was selected as the only place for Coronation of the Kings of this great ancient Buganda Kingdom. You will later transfer to Wamala Tombs where the ancient famous King of Buganda was buried. He is believed to have had 145 wives during his reign. You will then retire at the Hotel later in the evening, Have Dinner and spend a night there.

Day 3: Sezibwa Falls Ndere Cultural center

After the morning breakfast on this day, you will embark on the morning visit to Sezibwa falls which is another cultural heritage for the Buganda Kingdom. Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Rwenzori region

After an early breakfast at the Hotel, you will be picked by our driver and transfer to Kasese district the home of the Rwenzori Mountains. There will be a lunch enroute as you proceed to Kasese town and to Rwenzori Mountains Safari Camp for Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Nature walk at Ruboni Hill

Wake up early to the morning meal and start the hike to Ruboni hill enjoying great views of river Mubuku, Baker and Portal peaks as you hike the mountains. You will also watch the great Margherita peak as you stand at the Ruboni hill at 2300 meters high. You will then return to the Hotel for dinner and night’s stay.

Day 3: Cultural encounter/Hike Experience

Set off for the Buhemba Irimbo cultural trail for an exciting encounter of the Rwenzori culture of the Bakonzo people. The experience takes you 6-7 hours taking you to the heart of the traditional beliefs through the “Bat Valley” a sacred place of the traditional people running through the Kamusonge river. You will also be taken to meet the traditional healer who will explain the magic of his powers to heal the sick people. If time allows, you will be taken to meet the locals in the neighboring villages to have of a feel of their cultural/traditional values. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Return to Kampala

Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe to Kalangala

After early morning breakfast at your lodge, with your packed, you will be picked from your hotel/residence by our professional driver/guide and transfer to Nakiwogo or waterfront beach to catch up with the boat to transfer you to the island. Arrive in the afternoon and check-in your hotel/lodge to relax after the long boat ride. You will later enjoy the beach life as you chat your evening away at the fresh waters of Lake Victoria.

Day 2: Quad Biking and the Kalangala Experience

A pleasant breakfast will be served to you at the lodge and then you will be prepared to go for the quad biking experience at the Island. The guide will first take you through the basics of biking including how/when to change the gears, braking and speed control. This is an amazing experience as you ride encountering different bird species on the island and the locals. Return to the lodge for lunch and head out for a community visit to the nearby fishing villages and Kalangala town. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and a night stay at your lodge.

Day 3: Bird watching and Boat Cruise

You will transfer to the bird paradise park after breakfast for a chance to see special bird species on these islands. Return for lunch in the afternoon and launch a boat trip to explore the different Ssese islands and the activities that take place there by the local people including the fishing activities. Return later in the evening for relaxation.

Day 4: Transfer back to Entebbe/Kampala

On this day after your breakfast, you will embark on the journey back to Entebbe. You will be picked by our driver/guide on arrival at Nakiwogo from Kalangala and be transferred to your destination in Entebbe/ Kampala.

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Day 2: Drive to Jinja

After breakfast, connect to Jinja for an excursion, en route visit to Mabira forest- Uganda’s largest tropical forest for a nature walk and sky way zip-lining. Thereafter, continue to Jinja the second largest town for your preferred excursions. Upon arrival, have lunch then do an activity of your choice like white water rafting, bungee jumping, kayaking, or exploring the Itanda falls or rest as you wait for an evening Sun set activity. Late afternoon, explore the source of the Nile and go for sunset boat cruise on either Lake Victoria or River Nile. After breakfast, meet your driver/guide who will transfer you to Murchison falls national park, en route Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino trekking (2 hours). Have lunch and thereafter connect to Murchison Falls through Masindi for dinner and overnight say at Paraa Safari lodge/Pakuba Lodge/Fort Murchison Lodge

Day 4: Game drive and Boat cruise in Murchison falls.

After breakfast, embark on a morning game drive in the northern part of the park to the delta. This is where you may spot various animal species like elephants, giraffes, lions, hyenas, buffaloes, leopards (on a lucky day), and different species of antelopes including the Uganda Kobs, Jackson hartebeest, Oribi, bush/water bucks among others. After the game drive, return to your lodge to refresh and have lunch.

In the afternoon, go for a boat cruise to the top of magnificent falls along River Nile. This gives you chance to view a lot of wildlife on the shores including elephants, buffaloes, hippos, serried ranges of crocodile along the sand banks, different bird species among others. After getting close to the falls, there will be a stopover for photographs for like 10 minutes before going back. You can choose to hike the top of falls (45 minutes’ walk) with an additional cost which gives you opportunity to view the falls from different points. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

 Day 5: Transfer to Kibale National Park
