15 Days Uganda Safari

15 days Uganda safari will be a Uganda tour circuit reaching  to most of the national parks for game drive and viewing in Murchison falls, Queen Elizabeth national park, lake Mburo national park, track mountain gorillas in Bwindi forest national park, nature walks and visit jinja, the adventurous town.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1. Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Morning cup of coffee and depart to Murchison falls national park, you will them stop at zziwa rhino sanctuary to track the white rhinos, an activity that takes 2 hours, have lunch at Amuka lodge and proceed to Murchison falls. In case you reach early you will drive to the top of the falls. At the top you get to see the origin of the thunderous water fall squeezing itself in a narrow gorge while it flows into the Nile river up to the albert Nile. After that you will drive to the lodge check in for dinner and overnight atpaara Safari Lodge (Luxury)/Pakuba Lodge (Midrange)/Sambiya River lodge (Budget).

Day 2: Early morning game drive

Morning game drive starts as early as 6:00 am with chance to spot so many mammal species like water bucks, bush bucks, leopards, lions, hyenas, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, jackals and so much more.

You will also be able to see woodland and savannah species of bird while on game drive. After the activity you will drive back to the lodge for lunch, refresh and in the afternoon, you will do about cruise sun downer to the delta, you will be able to spot Nile crocodiles, school of hippos, bird species like saddle billed stork, the rare shoe bill stork at the delta, white starred Robbins and many others. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at day 1

Day 3. Murchison Falls – kibale National Park

on this day, you will depart Murchison falls national park to the home of 13 primate species, through wide green vegetation, tea plantation, traditional homesteads and chilly weather of Kamwenge- Fort portal, you will have lunch enroute and reach at the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay. Primate lodge/ isunga lodge/ chimpanzee guest house.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking

Breakfast and then chimpanzee tracking in kibale forest, the activity starts off with a briefing at the park center.After briefing you, the park ranger and guide will lead the group into the rainforest in search of a troop of chimpanzees. Once you get to them, spend time observing how they make nests to retire, feeding their young ones, swinging up in the tree branches and so many other, while in the forest, watch out for other beautiful primate like black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, olive baboons and common birds like the great blue turaco. Return to the lodge for lunch and visit Bigodi wetland for an evening nature walk, watch out for bird like double collard sunbird, black headed wax bill, red belled firefinch, malachitekingfisher, woodland kingfisher, black headed heron, black headed weaver, yellow-white eye pied crow, among others. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at day 3

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, depart to queen Elizabeth national park through kasenda crater along viewing Rwenzori mountain ranges at a distance. Arriving early afternoon for lunchand later do boat cruise on kazinga channel, you will see elephants quenching water from the river, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, water bird species like African fish eagle, pink-backed pelican, water thicken, long toed lap wing, arrow marked babbler, swamp fly catcher among others. After the boat, you will do a short evening game drive back to the lodge and be able to spot water bucks, warthogs lions, Uganda kobs and many others.

Day 6:  Game drive-craters drive

Early morning game drive starts at 7:00 am with breakfast at 6 am, during game drive you will be able to see wildlife encounters like water bucks, warthog, spotted hyenas, bush buck, Uganda kobs, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, vervet monkeys, olive baboons .Return to the lodge and have lunch in the afternoon, you will do crater drive visiting lake katwe salt mining and interact with the salt miners.

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi forest

Morning breakfast and transfer to Bwindi through ishasha sector, southern part of the park, with chance you will be able to spot the famous tree climbing lions, waterbucks and topis. You will have lunch enroute and proceed to Bwindi reaching in the evening, check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Bakiga lodge/ agandi lodge/Ruhija gorilla mist camp

Day 8: Gorilla tracking experience

On this day all you need is wake up very early and have a cup of tea, your safari guide will drive to the park center of briefing about gorilla tracking guidelines, embark on the memorable experience meeting the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Make sure you have carried packed lunch and drinking water, the time for trekking usually take 2-6 hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas. Once you find them, you will utilize 1 hour allowed, take pictures and videos, return to the lodge refresh, and in the evening you will do a guided nature walk for birding where you will be able to spot some bird species on the check list like, Rwenzori turaco, great blue- turaco, black saw wind, crowned eagle, sherry crimson wing, regale sun bird, handsome francolin and many others. Optional to visit the Batwa, and Bakiga community for attractional way of living in their homesteads. Dinner and overnight stay atBakiga lodge/ agandi lodge/gorilla mist camp 

Day 9:Transfer to lake Bunyonyi

In the morning you will depart to lake Bunyonyi to relax and cool off a bit, however you will also take a motorized boat ride to the prominent islands which hold strong history like punishment island, governors island where you will see zebras, impalas and donkeys. The lake is so interesting for bird watching like, cardinal wood peckers, pied kingfisher, tropical boubou, hamekop, hadada ibis among others. And in the evening, you can do optional cycling or hike to the top to have a clear of the lake and its islands.

Day 10:Transfer to lake mburo

Get back on the road to lake mburo, with enroute stopover in Mbarara for lunch and proceed reaching the park early afternoon, optional activities, game drive and boat cruise where you will have an encounter with wild life, bird species, impalas, zebras buffaloes, kobs, elands and several others.

Day 11: Walking safari

After breakfast, with an armed ranger guide you will have a guided walking safari with in the park. The walking starts at exactly 7 am for about 2 hours you will see Rothchild giraffes, impalas, topis,elands,zebra,warthog,hippos, leopards. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the evening visit the local community for cattle grazing, milking and preserving milk. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 12: Transfer to jinja
On this day have early morning breakfast and depart for jinja, stop over at mpambire local drum makers, equator for photography and experimentation. Proceed to jinja and reach early evening check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight. Wild waters/Nile river lodge.

Day 13: White water rafting-source of the Nile
Morning breakfast, and join in for the white water rafting at the source of the Nile, the activity is adventurous and quite thrilling, and after you do a boat cruise to the source of the Nile. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay

Day 14. Transfer to Kampala- City Tour
After breakfast, your driver/ guide will pick you up from your hotel and transfer to Kampala, reach early and do a quick city tour visiting places like Uganda Martyrs shrine Namugongo, the religious cathedrals, craft shops among other. Check in at the hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Humura guest houses/protea hotel/Sheraton hotel.

Day 15: Departure
Wake up at a relaxed pace, have break fast and drive off to Entebbe, lunch in Entebbe at the beach as you wait for check in time at the airport.
