Day 1: Transfer to Akagera National Park – Game drive
You will be picked by our professional guide from your Hotel in Kigali to transfer you to the Akagera National Park. The guide will share more information during your journey as you head to the Eastern side of Rwanda to Akagera Park that lies at the border with Tanzania. You will arrive in the afternoon and launch an evening game drive in this afternoon to catch up with gem including; Zebras, giraffes, elephants, bushbucks, lions, the black Rhinos and many bird species among others. You will have dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2: Game Drive and boat cruise at Akagera
After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will set off for a game viewing experience in the park with our knowledgeable guide. The guide understands the clear corners of the park where the animals can be seen. After this wonderful experience, you will return to the lodge for lunch and launch a boat ride at Lake Ihema. You will be able to catch up with the Hippos and Crocodiles as they swim into the waters. You will later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 3: Enroute Game Drive and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After the morning breakfast, you will set off to the park for an enroute game drive to catch up with some of the animals you could have missed the previous days or the ones you may want to see again. You will later depart from Akagera and head to the north of Rwanda to Volcanoes national Park arriving in the evening hours. Check into the lodge, relax, have dinner and spend the night there.
Day 4: Gorilla Tracking
After the morning game drive, you will drive off to the starting point at the park headquarters where you will be briefed on the clear guidelines about Gorilla tracking. The tracking starts in the morning and may take you 2-6 hours depending on the fitness of the trekkers. You will be allowed to spend one full hour with them learning about them as you take pictures you want. Watching the mountain an adult mountain Gorilla is the most captivating tour activity in the land of a thousand hills. Return to the starting point later and move to relax at the lodge.
Day 5: Golden Monkey tracking
After the morning breakfast, you will head back to the park headquarters in the early hours just like the Gorilla tracking activity. The park staff will guide you o how this day will go and take you to meet these shy and rare primates with golden fur. The Monkeys stay in the high mountains and are tracked for hours until you find a habituated group. After this blissful day, you will drive to the lodge for lunch and depart to Kigali for your final flight in Rwanda.
