6 Days Uganda Gorillas & Wildlife Safari

This 6 Days Uganda Gorillas & Wildlife Safari will include Lake Mburo National Park game viewing and walking safari, Queen Elizabeth National Park for game drive and primate walk in Kyambura Gorge, track mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and relax on the cool deep water of Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Morning breakfast and drive off to western Uganda, lake Mburo national park, the park is Strategically located on highway 3- 4 hours’ drive from the city center. Lake Mburo is inhabited by zebras, topis, impalas, warthogs, kobs, and many others. You will have en route stopover at the equator for photography and experiments also Mpabiire local drum makers, proceed to Mburo reaching in the afternoon for lunch and evening game drive where you will spot numerous wild life species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay Mihingo lodge/ Rwakobo rock lodge/ arcadia cottages.

 Day 2: Walking safari

Wake up and have a quick cup of tea for breakfast, and enroll for walking safari within the park.  This activity takes two hours, you will get close to the impalas, giraffes, topis, as well do some birding spotting various bird species like hamerkop, wagtail. Return to the lodge have breakfast and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park, reaching late evening, check-in the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Game drive and boat

Early morning game drive starts at 6-7 am along Kasenyi tracks, therefore you need to wake up early morning for breakfast, the purpose is to spot early risers like hyenas, lions, solitary buffaloes, and also kobs, elands, bushbucks, waterbucks, warthogs among others. Return to the lodge for breakfast and lunch and in the afternoon, you will do a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, with chances to get close to the school of hippos, crocodiles, elephants at the bank of the river, water birds, malachite kingfisher, African fish eagles, and many others. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight, Katara lodge/Parkview safari lodge, Mweya safari lodge.

Day 4: chimp tracking at Kyambura Gorge- Bwindi Forest National Park

Morning breakfast and chimpanzee tracking at Kyambura gorge, Kyambura is not only home to primates but the 100 meters step verdant forested slope is inhabited by other primates, which include olive baboons, vervet monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys. Other than primates there are also several bird species to spot like black and white kingfisher, Martial Eagle, Pink-backed pelicans, falcons, blue-headed bee-eater among others. In return you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park through the southern sector of the park, have a lunch en-route, and proceed to Bwindi reaching in the evening, check-in the lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Gorilla mist camp/Agandi lodge/Bakiga lodge.

Day 5: Gorilla tracking

On this day, wake up early and prepare for the memorable experience, you will need good hiking boots, camera, rain coat, come along with packed lunch and enough drinking water as you go for briefing at the park quarters. You will then embark on the tracking experience led by the ranger guide into the forest, trekking usually take 2- 3 hours depending on the movement of the great apes, when you final meet them, make use of the 1 hour time allocated to take photographs, videos and observe how they go about their daily life. On return you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi rock resort/ bird nest safari resort/ crater bay cottages.

 Day 6: Departure

Morning breakfast and tour around the 29 islands of Bunyonyi including punishment island and Kahungye island with great history and wildlife to see like impalas, zebras and donkeys as well as birds later transfer to Kigali international airport for departure crossing through Kabale- Katuna border.
