9 Days Uganda Wildlife and Gorilla Tracking Tour

The 10 days wildlife and Gorilla safari is an opportunity to explore Uganda’s national parks in one trip. The game drives and boat cruise to watch the wildlife and Gorillas will be the major highlight of this trip. It should be noted that Murchison Falls National park is Uganda’s largest and oldest park with some of the most attractive wildlife especially the big five.

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls National Park

You will be picked from your hotel in the morning by our professional safari guide and transfer to Murchison falls National Park. You will go through Luwero and Nakasogola with a quick stop over at a Hotel for lunch and proceed to catch up with the ferry to cross the Nile River to the Park. You will arrive in the afternoon hours and have a hike to the top of the falls for a quick view on the mighty falls where the Nile forces its way through a 7 meter gorge before it explodes flowing downwards. You will later return to the lodge for your dinner and have night stay at the Murchison River Lodge.

Day 2: Game drive and Boat cruise

After the morning breakfast, you will head out for an exciting morning game drive in the Murchison Falls Park. The wildlife to look out for include; elephants, Buffaloes, giraffes, Lions, leopards, antelopes and several bird species among others.  After this, you will return to the lodge, have lunch and prepare for boat cruise. Launch the boat cruise after lunch to the bottom of the falls for an exclusive view of the mighty falls, Hippos and the Nile Crocodiles. Several animals are also seen coming to cool of the hot weather at the fresh waters at the river banks. Also to look out for is the rare bird the Shoebill stork that is common in this area. Return to the lodge later to relax, have dinner and night stay at Murchison River Lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park

After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will transfer to Kibale National Park the home of Chimpanzees in Uganda. Kibale shelters over 1500 chimps which is the highest population of chimps in East Africa. You will arrive in the afternoon hours, have lunch and leave for a nature walk. Look out for different interesting plant species, butterflies, birds and several primates like monkeys as you walk through the forest. After this interesting tour, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Chimpanzee guest house.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park

The day begins with a delicious breakfast at the lodge and transfer to the park headquarters for briefing and grouping you in groups to go look for habituated chimpanzees. You will then be led into the forest with a team from UWA to help you find the chimps and share all the necessary information about the chimpanzees. The chimps are playful especially the young ones will be seen jumping from tree to tree and as they feed. The chimps feed on wild seasonal fruits that grow in the forests. After this exciting moment with the chimps you will return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. You will have a swamp walk at Bigodi swamp in Kibale Park to catch up with more primate species. Kibale has about 13 primate species that could be seen during chimpanzee tracking or during this swamp walk. The day end at the lodge as you have dinner and stay at the lodge for overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Have breakfast at the lodge, you will leave Kibale National Park and drive off to Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving in the afternoon. The afternoon will usher you into an exclusive game drive to catch up with the great wildlife including lions, elephants, waterbucks, impalas, warthogs, giraffes, buffaloes and leopards among others. You will later go to the lodge to relax, have dinner and night stay at Elephant hub lodge.

Day 6: Game drive and Boat cruise at Kazinga Channel

You will have an early game drive after breakfast at the lodge to catch up with the early risers. Animals are most active in the morning hours as they feed and such a morning game drive is a chance to watch them closely. The animals such as the Impalas, warthogs, giraffes, elephants are active in these hours and you will have a big chance to see them. The early hunting cats are also seen jumping on the helpless animals. This scenic moment will take about 3 hours before you return to the lodge for your lunch. You will launch boat cruise after lunch at the famous to catch up with the hippos, crocodiles and the different water birds that may not be seen anywhere else in Uganda.

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will transfer to Bwindi this day through the Ishasha sector well known for the tree climbing lions. You will have a chance to watch the lions as they hunt or rest on the big trees. Resting in the trees is also a chance for the lions to watch their next prey. You will then proceed to Bwindi arriving in the evening hours to relax at the lodge, have dinner and night stay at Bakiga Lodge.

Day 8: Gorilla tracking

The days begins on a delicious meal at the lodge early in the morning and transfer to the park headquarters for briefing on the guidelines for Gorilla trekking. You will then hit the jungle in search for the gorilla group allocated to you. You will have 1 hour from the time of contact with the Gorillas as you take memorable pictures and learning more about them. Later return to the lodge for lunch, and head out for a community visit to interact with the local people. You can choose to engage in the cultural performances or sit and watch the local traditional groups perform for you.

Day 9: Return to Kampala

After an early breakfast you will embark on the journey to Kampala marking the end of your trip. There will be a stopover for lunch in Lyantonde and another short stop over at the equator for a memorable picture moment. Proceed to Kampala/Entebbe for your flight.
