Packing List for Gorilla Safaris

Looking for a broad packing list for gorilla safaris? Gorilla tracking is Uganda’s one of the biggest tour activities in the tourism industry attracting millions of travelers from all over the world. It is a vigorous activity that involves hiking into the forests I search for a habituated mountain gorilla group. There are a number of items you are required to carry to make your Gorilla trekking tour more comfortable and they include some of the following.

Hiking Shoes

The slippery forest trails as you search for the Gorillas, require you to have hiking boots. The nature of the terrain and the elevation as you hike into thick vegetation can only be managed if you have your hiking Shoe packed.

Rain/Waterproof Jacket

The Bwindi impenetrable forest is a tropical rain forest with very high chances of unpredictable rains any time of the day. Your rain jacket will save you from the heavy downpour that may come at any time of the day.

Pair of long trousers

A pair of long trousers is important to protect your legs from the thorny and itch bush vegetation; you will also need a short one just for relaxation later in the day after the tracking experience.

Long-sleeved shirt

Gorillas live in thick forests which require you to have a long-sleeved shirt or blouse to keep your arms secure from the itchy vegetation.

Hand gloves

Hiking into the jungles in search of habituated gorillas is normally quite tough, you may need to hold onto the forest vegetation due to the slippery terrain or just too climb higher. Hand gloves will therefore keep your hands safe as you hike through the dense vegetation cover.

Sunglasses

Your pair of sunglasses should never miss out of your bag to keep your eyes from the direct sun especially during the peak season when the sun is much.

Camera

You must carry your camera to take memorable pictures of the Gorillas in their natural habitat. Carry enough extra batteries along to ensure that you have the best captions at all times.

Snack and Drinking water

Gorilla trekking may take you more time than expected since these are wild creatures that keep moving in search for more food, you will therefore need to carry enough water and snacks for your journey.

NOTE: There may be other things you need for your journey but these are the major Gorilla tracking items to help make your tracking more comfortable and easy.
