Why are Gorillas unable to speak?

Gorillas do not speak even when they have all the human like structures that would enable it to speak. And the reason is simple that they lack the brain power to coordinate their body structures.

How many people are allowed to track a gorilla group?

A maximum of 8 visitors are allowed to visit a gorilla group each day, this is done to avoid stressing the gorillas with a large group of visitors. Gorillas may feel threatened when they’re surrounded and may react by charging at the guests. A small group however is not a threat to a gorilla family since they have been habituated and are used to the presence of human beings.

How long will I be with the Gorillas?

Visitors are allowed to spend one full hour with Gorillas (Gorilla tracking) and 4 hours for Gorilla habituation. This happens in all the three gorilla racking destinations of Rwanda, Uganda and the DRC. You have ample time with the gorillas as you take pics and watch them live their lives in the forest.

What is the best time to visit Gorillas?

Gorillas can be visited throughout the year in all the destinations. The best time however is the dry season when there are less or no chances of rain allowing visitors to track with less disturbance due to the terrible terrain of the rain forest. Drier months include; December to March and June to September. This period is actually known as peak season because it attracts more travelers. The rainy season is also another good time for gorilla tracking activity especially for travelers that would not want to meet several other tourists in the park. This period is normally from March to May and October to November or sometimes mid-December.

How much is a gorilla permit?

Gorilla permits are charged 1500USD, 600USD and 400UD in Rwanda, Uganda and Congo respectively.
