Horse Riding In Lake Mburo

Horse Riding In Lake Mburo

Lake Mburo National Park is located in the western side of the country a few hours’ drive from Kampala city.

This beautiful activity is organized privately by Mihingo Lodge and is managed by the lodge. It started outside the park with visitors riding in the neighboring parts of the park and was later introduced to the park in November 2009. This is the best way to get close to the animals without them running away from you since you ride on one of them. The lodge has 7 horses meaning only six visitors can be allowed to go for a ride at a time. The other horse is for their guide to lead them through the known trails that lad you to the amazing nature of this park.

There is no need for experience to be able to take the ride on a horse, the guide will help you to carefully ride as you have your head covered by a helmet to avoid accidents. The experienced riders are allowed to ride at a relatively higher speed than the inexperienced ones. This will entirely depend on the speed of the other riders.

The horses are able to carry up to 100 kilograms but will not be allowed to carry anyone above 85 kilograms. Visitors with more than the standard weight requirement will unfortunately miss out on the experience.

Some of the other activities to do at Lake Mburo include; cycling tours, game viewing in safari cars, nature walks and birding tours among others.
