Uganda is an amazing destination throughout the year. However, depending on your travel plans- for instance if you are interested in undertaking a game drive or gorilla trekking, there are better months with the best weather conditions compared to the rest of the months. With varying weather conditions, the best time to visit Uganda is usually during the 2 dry seasons – from December, January to February and June, July to August.
The 2 dry seasons offer best conditions for gorilla and chimpanzee trekking experiences in Uganda. If you are interested in game viewing, September to early October, February to March also offer the most favorable conditions across most National Parks in Uganda. A huge profusion of wildlife can clearly be spotted congregating along waterholes to drink water providing tourists a great chance to have excellent view of diverse species.
Temperatures in Uganda often range from 24-30 degrees Celsius and rarely do they change making Uganda a favorable travel destination all year round. It is also an interesting birding destination to visit at any time of the year.
Most National Parks and other protected areas turn green from October to November and March to May. These are wet months of the year and they are characterized by heavy rains but they are the best for birders to enjoy sight of diverse migratory birds.
